Reza Madadi (11-2) is ready for his North American debut. According to reports from MMAnytt.se, the rising lightweight prospect has been assigned Rafaello Oliveira as his first test inside the Octagon, slated for the UFC's January debut on FX.
Madadi, a Swedish-Iranian wrestling standout, signs his contract after blazing a trail across Europe en route to a six-fight win streak. Affectionately known as "Mad Dog", the 31-year-old has UFC pedigree to his credit, holding wins over Zuffa veterans Rich Clementi, Junie Browning, and Carlo Prater.
Across the cage, Oliveira simply hopes to avoid the pink slip after dropping his past two UFC contests against Gleison Tibau and Yves Edwards. Prior to his slump, the 29-year-old ripped through a four-fight win streak to gain reentry into the Octagon.
UFC on FX is slated for January 20, 2012. Lightweight contenders Melvin Guillard and Jim Miller square off in the night's main event.
